THE GRAND SLUMFEST™

Slumfest™

Meals are served and lots of entertainment including comedy, dance, bands and modeling shows grace the day.

THE GRAND SLUMFEST™: This started as a one day annual community event with a theme for the day and to guide its vision. Most similar events were always held at up market and expensive neighborhoods where ordinary creative and enterprising young people couldn’t access.

Through this annual event held in different localities where the masses are, we encourage underserved and less exposed innovators, creative minds, upcoming artists, artisans and the general public to get space and showcase products and services, participants exchange ideas, get trained by Business Doctors who visit their stands, mingle with participants for spontaneous question and answer moments. Health Counseling and Testing services are provided for in such a conducive and private manner that many opt to know their HIV status. Meals are served and lots of entertainment including comedy, dance, bands and modeling shows grace the day. It’s hoped that such as event will continue to gain support and even host build up pre event workshops for 3 days to a week on capacity building for various needs. With the opening of The Slumcode Centre in Huruma, many participants will have a place to bring their products for exhibition, have an opportunity in our website and let the world know their work.
