AMBITIOUS PLAN BY DISADVANTAGED YOUTH FROM NAIROBI – KENYA TO CREATE SPACES FOR INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY.
The Slumcode Group having served young people in low income regions of Nairobi has taken it’s most daring step ever to conceptualize, plan and implement a campaign dubbed #March2Greatness – to create massive awareness, mobilize resources and resource partners towards the realization of The Slumcode Innovations and Creatives Hub – a 1st co-working space in the East Side of Nairobi.
#MARCH2GREATNESS initiative (2016 – 2020), will employ and apply young people’s #Talent, #Creativity, #Innovation into skill sets deemed key drivers of Business Development and Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century creatives economy.
For Publicity, Promotion and Awareness creation, Slumcoders have created and recorded this amazing musical anthem to be followed by an epic video clip to launch and go viral in 2018.
Key activities aimed at mobilizing funds together with stakeholder partnerships both locally and globally have also been planned. #Hike For The Great an #AdventureWithPurpose event seeks the support of 60 bold and courageous people from across the World to raise funds towards this cause and ultimately climb Mount Kilimanjaro in December 2018.
Also emphasized through this TEDx presentation by Dominick Byrne, a UK based Consultant who worked with Slumcode back in 2010.
The unique drive behind this project is the nature of how it involves young entrepreneurs and mentees of Slumcode who feel the direct impact of Slumcode in their life achievements and greatness today. They today have ideas, input and status of running their own businesses, initiatives and companies that will add much value to the process.
